The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. You will drive to Mto wa Mbu for lunch then drive to Farm of Dreams the property offers spectacular sweeping views of the hills and close distant to the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Eyasi,Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park. Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater To Serengeti.
Distance: 150 Kilometres After breakfast drive towards the Ngorongoro Highlands we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. You will later exit the crater and start your drive from Ngorongoro towards Serengeti National Park arriving at your camp in the Seronera area in time for dinner. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Pamoja Serengeti Camp.
Day 5: On Safari At Serengeti.
Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement). Floating silently above the awakening bush, while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa, across rivers and over numerous small villages. We do an after breakfast game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the Centre in the shade of the giant acacia trees. In the afternoon we will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Pamoja Serengeti Camp.
Day 6: Serengeti To Masai Mara
Distance: 320 Kilometres On this day we will have an early morning breakfast and depart the camp at 0700 as you head back towards the Kenya border stopping for picnic lunch along the way. You will arrive at Isebania Border where you will re-enter into Kenya after the visa and customs process linking back with your guide from Kenya. You will bid your Tanzania guide goodbye and start your drive towards the Masai Mara. You will drive towards the Olololoo escarpment driving into the wild plains of the Masai Mara. This is probably one of Kenya’s most visited reserve with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti eco systems giving life to the both reserves before finally pouring out into the Lake Victoria. Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle instinct led migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara in Kenya. This journey is coupled by numerous obstacles which makes it even more magnificent. We will drive into the Masai Mara with a game drive en route arriving at your camp in time for dinner and overnight stay. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Basecamp Masai Mara.
Day 7&8: On Safari At Masai Mara
Early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Maasai Mara is famous for its black mane lions and the annual wildebeest migration. You will follow the wildebeest migration as the herds will be south of the Masai Mara. You could also opt for a half day drive returning back to the camp for hot lunch. You will follow the leopards that inhabit the Olare Orok river circuit that pours into the Mara River. In the evening you will drive. Drive towards the main wildebeest crossing areas to experience the Wildebeest migration as they start the trek south towards the Serengeti. Dinner and Overnight will be at Masai Mara. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Basecamp Masai Mara.
