Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala
Your Ugandan journey starts with touch down at the Entebbe International Airport where you will be received by a Features Africa Representative. There will be a short briefing on your Uganda Safari before transferring to the Kampala Serena Hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Murchison Falls
Day 3: Murchison Falls
After breakfast, you will be transferred by your guide to the Nile River crossing to the northern bank of the park via ferry. There is an array of wildlife inhabiting the ecosystem such as elephants, lions, the Cape buffalo, the Rothschild Giraffe, hartebeest, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, hyenas and the occasional Leopard among others. You will return to your lodge for breakfast. After lunch, you will have a boat ride upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the fall, stopping a short distance from the Devils Cauldron. Disembark the river and hike up the falls where you will see the world longest river explode violently through a narrow crevice on the Rift Valley and plunge into a whirlpool some 50 meters below. Your driver guide will transfer you back to the Paraa safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 :Kibale
Depart the Murchison after breakfast headed for the Kibale Forest national Park. This is scenic drive as you enjoy the stunning views passing through small villages and markets. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the “Mountains of the Moon” with endless tea plantations. Continue into the dense Kibale Forest arriving at the Kibale Primate Lodge in the early evening . Dinner and overnight is at the lodge.
Day 5 : Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, head to the Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a safari briefing at 0800 hrs. Set out on an exciting guided nature walk and Chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park at 0900 hrs. You will have the pleasure of seeing primates like chimpanzees, the Colobus monkeys, bush babies among others in the beautiful flora of the forest. You will spend about an hour with the Chimpanzees before embarking on a 3 hours drive to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the scenic sighting of the Kasese Copper mining town, wild animals, and the Ruwenzori Mountains enroute. You will check-in at our handpicked lodges before embarking on an evening crater drive at the scenic Katwe explosion craters which comprises of forested, dry and water-filled craters. An evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains will bring the safari to a close before returning to the lodge for dinner. All meals and overnight will be at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Day 6 :Queen Elizabeth
Your day starts with an early morning game drive after breakfast. You will venture out to the breeding grounds for the Uganda Kob in search of Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, among other resident wildlife of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Return to the camp for lunch and an afternoon rest. You will be treated to a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel after Lunch. The Kazinga channel is a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. It is home to numerous species of bird and mammals notably Elephants, Buffaloes, and hundreds of Hippos that can be seen cooling off on the shore. This is a safari highlight and not to be missed safari experience. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Day 7 :Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your day starts with an early morning game drive after breakfast. You will venture out to the breeding grounds for the Uganda Kob in search of Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, among other resident wildlife of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Depart the Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to the Bwindi Forest National Park. Meals and overnight will be at the Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge.
Day 8 :Bwindi Gorilla Tracking
Early breakfast is at 0630 hrs. After breakfast, you will meet up with your ranger at 0800 hrs ready to start the day long trek in search of the Mountain Gorillas. You are advised to carry your rain jackets, drinking water, jungle trekking boots and snacks. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for the group you will be assigned. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours. This is the most amazing experience on earth as you stare into the deep eyes of the gentle Mountain Gorillas. The afternoon will be spent around the Buhoma Village. This walk will gives you an insight into the culture of the surrounding community. Return to your lodge in the early evening to enjoy and soak in the landscape. Meals and overnight will be at the Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge.
Day 9 :Kampala
Early breakfast at the lodge signals your departure for Kampala with scenic sightings of the Kigezi sub-region enroute. The Kigezi sub-region has been likened to Switzerland and is referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. You will have a brief photography stopover with lunch at Mbarara town. Continue with the journey before stopping at the Equator for an informative talk. Proceed to Kampala where your safari ends with your return flight.
